Sunny Day

Two mondays in a row of nice weather.  The tennis tournament was put on hold this week.  We dont want to play too much.  We have a lot of sunny days ahead.  Hopefully anyways.  So today was my first day running outside.  I forgot how much better it is to run outside instead of running inside on a treadmill.  I have been able to increase my running by about a mile a week the last few weeks.  On the treadmill you can just stop running when you want and be done for the day.  Running outside pushes you more.  You can run just as far, but once you stop you have to turn around and go back.  So really you run twice as far.  It was a good thing that I took some Ibprofren before I ran otherwise I would of had to call my wife to pick me up.  Drugs sure let you do a lot more things then you normally could because of pain.  I look forward to running outside a lot more.  Who knows maybe I will try and prepare myself to run the st. George Marathon with my cousin.  Only time will tell.  I have few more months before I have to determine that.  The end!!

SNOW!!

I am so sick of snow. There are those who haven't ever seen the stuff. Here's my advice to those who have not experienced snow. Get an old Refrigerator or a big deep freeze. Make sure it's the old kind that gets lots of frost thickly covering the sides. Scrape a bunch of it into a pile. Stick your hand in it and close the door. That's how pleasant it is! Ok. Fine. It's not that bad, because I am in my warm house. This is just how we start to feel when we get signs of spring around the corner and then it gets stolen from us again with a fresh layer of snow and more freezing temps. Right now it's a whopping 40 degrees Fahrenheit. I could really use warmer temps. I am ready for spring. I love the beauty of snow. I love seeing it fall and before it is touched it looks like a soft blanket of cotton. I do appreciate it. Anyone who lives with snow knows also that it makes driving conditions bad, it turns muddy and gross after plowing and sometimes it melts then refreezes into a hard layer of ice that it is near impossible to walk on! haha So yes, that is my complaint for the day. I will try and just be thankful for this fresh blanket of snow..I'll try really really hard. Written by Chrit

Lost on LOST

Wednesday nights are exciting in our little apartment. Why, you might ask? Well, partly because it is half way through the work week but mostly because it is LOST night. Each week is a new adventure as a LOST fan. You could be seeing the world through a psychopaths eyes (Ben) or walking through another character's past, casting them into a totally new light and causing you to re-evaluate your judgements of that character. Every Wednesday night the show hooks you all over again, its like a drug. Just when you think you can stop watching it, they give you one more piece of the puzzle and you think "Next week I will be able to figure this craziness out". But next week will prove to just be one more strange maze of confusion. The part of the story I don't get is how they are going to get all of those loose ends tied up? WEll I don't know but I do know we will keep watching until we figure it out!!! Written by Chrit

Our First Tennis Tournament

On Monday April 13, after many months of being stuck inside, our tennis rackets were able to leave the closet. During Christmas break, we flirted with the idea of playing, while vacationing in sunny Arizona, but with no success they were returned to the closet. Finally, with the sunshine warming the air, it was time. Driving to Provo high school tennis courts, we noticed that other people had the same idea. With no courts open, up the hill we went. Bringing our camera to capture the moments (which will shortly be posted on this blog) we staked out our court and stretched before the tournament began. There was a lot of on lookers, watching our beautiful strokes, although rusty from the winter months. Many of them asked if we played professionally, we just laughed and modestly told them it was a hobby. After a few practice rallies, it was on. It felt good to swing the old racket again, even though we lost two balls in doing so and pulled a few muscles that had been in hibernation all winter. A good start to a long season of tennis. As I woke up this morning with a lingering spring fever from the night before, I looked out the window and saw that it was no longer spring, it was back to winter. So I went back to bed with visions of tennis floating through my head. Next Monday promises to be sunny again, and we will break out the rackets and play again. THE END! Written by Chrit
